Meet the International Student Ambassadors 2023-2024

Each year a handful of international students are selected to be International Student Ambassadors. Their mission is to promote diversity on campus, provide peer support and share experiences, and assist Red River College Polytechnic programs and services to organize events and activities.

It is our pleasure to introduce the Ambassadors for this academic year:

Mehak Badhwar

Mehak studies Pharmaceutical and Food Manufacturing at the Notre Dame Campus. She says, “I am the person who chases happiness and loves seeing happy faces. I am a dendrophile and love being in nature. I do pencil sketching and enjoy exploring new places and food. I always practice humanity and try to be a good human being. My daily goal is to bring a smile to someone’s face; it makes me feel good. I am aware of the fact that we all have different backgrounds and perspectives on life, i.e., I always try to create a comfortable environment where everyone feels that they are being heard, welcomed, and involved. I want everyone to think we are still at home and that we are all their family.”

Phuong Tran

Phuong studies International Business at the Notre Dame Campus. She shares, “I am a mom with two sons, and I really want to connect with those moms who are studying here in Winnipeg to help each other achieve our academic goal as well as family balance together. I like blogging, digital creative arts, and listening to innovative ideas, as well as joining in community activities to learn more about Canadian life.”

Vishal Singh

Vishal studies Truck Transport Technology at the Notre Dame Campus. Vishal says, “I would like to quote the teaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji that “He who regards all man as equal is religious”. Hence let us be helpful to each other and create an inclusive environment.”

Tadiwanashe Takawira

Tadiwanashe studies IT Operations at the Exchange District Campus. He shares, “I’m keen to learn about different cultures, I enjoy listening to people’s experiences and I hope to get to see things from their perspectives. I’m a fan of sportsmanship and cultivating inclusive environments.”
