President’s Student Leadership Program Accepting RRC student Applications
Red River College is thrilled to share an exciting opportunity to help students grow and enhance their leadership skills with likeminded students from programs and post-secondary institutions across the province.
The President’s Student Leadership Program is currently accepting applications for its inaugural year and is open to students in all programs at Red River College.
About the Program:
The President’s Student Leadership Program is offered by the Institute for Leadership Development, located in the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business. This is an innovative and immersive program where students learn from top leaders in a range of fields and sectors. It will bring together 28 students from across disciplines, post-secondary institutions, interests and regions of the province to build on their existing leadership skills.
Admitted students will participate in a multi-day seminar with site visits, hands-on leadership workshops and peer learning. Students who participate in the program will receive the opportunity to learn in an intensive format about key leadership challenges and opportunities today, access to mentorship opportunities, a letter of accomplishment and certificate, and more.
Successful candidates will receive a student fellowship to cover full costs of the week, including transportation, meals and lodging at a U of M residence. The program runs from June 8-16, 2019.
Eligibility:
Applicants must show past leadership experience and impact in a formal or informal role, in addition to working effectively with others to pursue common goals, being committed to others’ learning as well as your own, and being open and interested in learning from experience.
Eligible students must be at least halfway through their program of study, but not in their graduating year. Students in a two-year program should apply while in the second half of their first year of post-secondary study. Students may also be in the process of transferring between programs or institutions.
Applications are due Monday, February 25, 2019.
