Intensive English

In RRC Polytech’s Intensive English for International Students (IEIS) you will be actively learning how to communicate and succeed in English-speaking academic and employment environments. The IEIS adapts to your language level, providing flexible options for you.
The Program
The Intensive English for International Students (IEIS) is a full-time program designed to students fulfilling the language requirements for their chosen academic program at RRC Polytech.
There is a focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing skill development through a variety of communicative tasks. What to expect from the program? Classroom study, cultural events, field trips, and guest speakers. Students will also receive an orientation to living and studying in Canada.
The last term of the IEIS will focus on the language skills for the specific area of study related to your academic program. When you meet the expected language requirements, then you will be ready to join the academic program of your choice!

Our Language Training Centre
The Intensive English for International Students takes place in the Language Training Centre (LTC), one of the premier language training facilities in Canada. Located in downtown Winnipeg, the LTC is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide you with exceptional English training.

Language Requirements
Before applying to your IEIS program, we strongly recommend that you take the IELTS Academic or CanTest:
- If you achieve the minimum scores in all categories (listening, speaking, writing and reading), you can apply directly to the academic program of your choice
- If you still need to improve your marks to achieve the minimum scores, you can submit your test results to us and get an estimate on the length of your IEIS program
That will help you to properly plan your time in Canada several months prior to your arrival.
