Assessment of External Courses
RRC assesses courses offered through business, industry and other non post-secondary organizations to determine if the courses are equivalent to learning required in College courses.
RRC’s Recognition of Prior Learning policy describes the assessment of non formal learning procedures.
Assessment of External Courses from Non Post-Secondary Institutions Manual
Organizations may offer courses and other learning opportunities for their employees. When courses offered cover content equivalent to College course learning outcomes, an assessment may be requested.
The Assessment of External Courses from Non Post-Secondary Institutions Manual provides the guidelines for the assessment of workplace courses.
Note: RRC maintains an inventory of approved External Courses from Non Post-Secondary Institutions.
The College’s RPL Manager leads the process and assists Program Chairs/Managers and faculty assessors to determine College equivalency for workplace courses.
