Broaden recognition and acknowledgment of diverse cultural holidays.EDI group communicate to identify and communication upcoming holidays to departmental staff.
Recognize and support cultural diversity by advocating for culturally diverse food options for staff and students.Speak with appropriate College leadership about how this object can best be supported.

School of Continuing Education and Regional Campuses

Utilize the internal expertise within our own department regarding EDI hiring, events, etc.Identify 2-5 staff who volunteer to be consulted.
Begin process to create a clear onboarding process and procedure manuals meeting SCE/RRC Polytech consistency guidelines and appealing to multiple learning styles so new hires know what is happening, and who their supports are.Identify appropriate cross-representation from involved areas.

Revitalize the Cree language in Fisher River and the Province of Manitoba’s educational system.Arrange instructor and develop program delivery plan.
Ensure we are asking our Indigenous graduates to apply by following calls to action from Manitoba Collaborative Indigenous Education Blueprint (MCIEB).Continue working with HR to ensure job ads are well-worded to highlight the weight given to RRC certificate/diploma.

Student Services and Global Partnerships

Objectives Actions
To foster a culture of inclusion and diversity thereby ensuring staff feel engaged and connected to SSGP.Provide mentoring and job shadowing to allow staff to learn, share, discuss and connect with each other.

Develop focus groups with departmental staff to understand barriers to employment and retention, with a particular focus on the culturally diverse staff within CIEGP.
Increase self-declaration of belonging to one or more equity groups.Include discussions on self-declaration during the onboarding process for new employees.
