Working On Campus

Vaccination Requirement

From the onset of the pandemic, Red River College Polytechnic has made the health and safety of our students, staff and community our top priority. COVID-19 vaccinations are now required for students, employees, individuals living in residence, and visitors for any on-campus learning, teaching, or work requirements for the fall 2021 semester.

Starting September 20, the RRC Polytech Mobile Safety App will be used to verify vaccination (or approved exemption) status, allowing entry to campus through designed entrances.

Download the RRC Polytech Mobile Safety App
Click here for step-by-step instructions on how to add your proof of vaccination to the Mobile Safety App.

Access

Employees who wish to access the College need to use the Onsite Check-In tool through HUB. Be sure to also follow the steps outlined before you enter a campus.

Please remember if you are sick or showing any symptoms of COVID-19, you must stay home and self-isolate. Take the self-assessment using the Manitoba COVID-19 Screening Tool.

Masks Required on Campus

Red River College Polytechnic students, employees and visitors, including vendors and contractors, are required to wear medical grade face masks at all times while on any RRC Polytech campus.

The protocol, part of RRC Polytech’s COVID-19 Policy, requires that masks be worn in all indoor spaces and facilities, including classrooms, labs, workrooms, areas where staff work within 2 metres of each other, washrooms, hallways, elevators, and public spaces. Masks can be removed while eating, but individuals should take measures to ensure physical distancing during meal and snack breaks.

Students and employees can wear a personal cloth mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin. However, RRC Polytech will provide one disposable mask each day to any student or employee who needs one.

The requirement to wear a mask, even if you have no symptoms of COVID-19, adds an additional layer of precaution to our on-campus health and safety measures, and helps protect those around you from the spread of infection.

Additional information regarding mask usage on campus can be found in our online FAQ.

Transportation

Parking

As of August 31, 2020, RRC Polytech is moving towards a scramble parking plan at the Notre Dame Campus. This means there will no longer be assigned parking stalls, and staff do not need to hang their parking permit from their rear-view mirror (we ask that you hold onto your permit for now).

Parking fees will no longer be deducted from your bi-weekly payroll. The rates for parking remain the same as they were prior to COVID-19. All staff and students who choose to drive to campus have new, flexible options to pay for parking:

  • Pay for daily or hourly parking via the PayByPhone app.
  • Pay for daily or hourly parking on-site using the parking meters.
  • Purchase monthly at our new online portal.

Parking will be available in the following lots at NDC: North 2 (2N on map), South, and East (see parking map).

We will continue to provide updates via Staff and Student News, emails, web and social media updates. Please get in touch with any concerns, questions or suggestions at parking@rrc.ca. Parking staff will be on-hand in the Information booth at NDC’s South Lot to answer any questions and provide support.

For more information, see our parking resources.

Prior to August 31, staff who need to enter the Notre Dame Campus may park in the South Lot or East Lot (directly in front of the Skilled Trades and Technology Centre). The South Lot and East Lot are currently scramble parking, and were selected for their close proximity to the College’s primary entrances during this period of limited access. Parking fees will be waived up until August 31.
