Report a Hazard
A hazard is an event or physical condition that has the potential to cause fatalities, injuries, property damage, infrastructure damage, damage to the environment, interruption of business, or other types of loss.
If you recognize a hazard in the workplace, the principle of due diligence requires your action to control the hazard.
- If the hazard is not something you can immediately control or you are not qualified to fix, report it to your supervisor.
- If you are a supervisor, take the required action to control the hazard. Contact the appropriate personnel and if necessary, submit a work order to have the issue repaired.
- If the hazard has not been adequately controlled, or if you are not comfortable to report the hazard to your employer, you can contact a member of your local Workplace Safety and Health Committee.
- If the hazard is something that can cause immediate harm to anyone, contact Security Services at 204.632.2323.
