2017/18 Season

The Red River College Women’s Volleyball Team is pleased to announce the commitment C. Ortezaof Chloe Orteza to the women’s volleyball program for the start of the 2017/2018 season. Most recently, Chloe has attended the University of Manitoba to continue her educational studies at a university-level. From 2013-2014, she attended the University of Winnipeg; where she was a red-shirt freshmen player for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen Women’s Volleyball Team. The 5’11 left side/middle was a member of the Jr. Wesmen 18U Club Team that finished fourth in the Provincial Championships. For high school, she attended College Lorette Collegiate were she competed in the 3 consecutive MHSAA AAA Provincial Championships. During this time, the CLC women’s volleyball and basketball teams, were able to capture numerous zone championships, banners and personal player of the game awards. She is delighted to begin her nursing education at Red River College in August 2017.  “I am extremely excited and thankful for this new opportunity to represent the RRC Rebels in this upcoming season” added Chloe.

sara-meisnerThe Red River College Women’s Volleyball team is excited to announce  that Sara Meisner will be joining the team for the 2017/18 season. She is currently a first year student at University of Manitoba who will be transferring to Red River College next fall. She graduated from Ashern Central School in 2016 on the honour roll and received top graduating female athlete. She played on both the junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams starting in the ninth grade, and assisted in bringing home five banners. She has competed in five high school provincial championships in volleyball, as well as one in curling. She is a dedicated multi-sport athlete who also played on the school’s baseball, badminton, and beach volleyball teams. Sara had the opportunity to play for the Winman volleyball club, where she finished fourth in her division at Nationals. During her spare time she assists in coaching the junior varsity team at her high school in Ashern. She is looking forward to taking my volleyball skills to the next level and getting a degree in nursing at Red River.
