Doug Lawrie, Head Coach

Doug has coached the “beautiful game” for 20 years. He coached boys and girls youth teams in the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association at all levels of competition until 2009. Since 2010 Doug has been President and Head Coach of the Hornets Soccer Club competing in the Winnipeg Women’s Soccer League. Doug is a certified CSA Level 3 (Senior) soccer coach, and has successfully completed the NCCP Competition Development Multi-Sport program and the CSA Provincial Pre-B Licence assessment. In 2007 Doug was awarded WYSA Coach of the Year for the St Charles Youth Soccer Assn. In 2016 Doug was awarded Coach of the Year by the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference, along with capturing the 2016 MCAC Women’s Soccer and Futsal Championships. In 2017 Doug was awarded the MCAC Coach of the Year for Futsal after coaching the Rebels to a repeat Futsal championship.

soccer15action (49) (002)Doug is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston with a BA in Economics and Commerce. While attending RMC he played varsity hockey competing in the Ontario Universities Athletic Association. Doug served 31 years in the Air Force specializing in Maritime Helicopter operations and Flying Instruction. While in the military Doug was an active participant in the Canadian Forces National Sports program in both hockey and soccer as a player, coach and administrator.

This is Doug’s eighth year as Head Coach of the Red River College Women’s Varsity Soccer and Futsal teams.

Elizabeth Codville, Assistant Coach

Elizabeth is a former Rebels player and coach, now returning for her 2nd stint has assitant coach. A former team captain, Elizabeth holds a wealth of soccer knowledge and experience being a former MCAC all-star and high level women’s club player.

 

 

Nadine Reimer, Assistant Coach

Nadine is a Rebels Alumni player from the 2014-2017 Soccer and Futsal teams.  Nadine played her youth soccer in the South End district of WYSA and high school varsity with Fort Richmond Collegiate.  She played at the Premier level in both Youth and Senior Club Soccer.  Nadine graduated from Fort Richmond Collegiate in 2012 where she was on the Honour Roll with an academic average over 90% and won several proficiency awards.  Nadine will be graduating from the RRC Baccalaureate Nursing program in September 2017 following her final practicum this summer.  Nadine also currently serves as the 2017 Nursing Student Council Graduation Committee Chair.

While playing with the Rebels Nadine was a three time MCAC Champion, and three time Finalist.  Nadine was selected a team captain for the 2016/17 Soccer and Futsal seasons.  In 2016, after leading the team in offensive statistics, Nadine received the Rebels Women’s Soccer MVP award.  She followed this with a magical Futsal season leading the team with a record breaking 19 goals in conference games.  Says Nadine, “I have had the most amazing experience as a Rebels athlete and I am very excited to stay involved with the program as a Coach.  I am already looking forward to the start of training camp!”

Connor Forzley, Assistant Coach

Connor played Youth Premier soccer with Winnipeg South End United and spent her last year of youth soccer playing for FC North West. She trained with the Manitoba Provincial Soccer program and was selected for the MHSAA All Star team in 2012. Connor has played on Premier and Division 1 Senior Women’s teams and travelled to the Senior Women’s Club National Championships in October 2016 with the WSA Premier Women’s soccer team.

Connor began coaching as an Assistant Coach for several years at both youth club (WSEU) and High School (SMA Flames) levels. Connor has also been an Assistant Coach at the WSEU Goalkeeper Academy for the past 3 years.

Currently in her first year of the RRC Nursing program, Connor is looking forward to working with the RRC Rebels as the Goalkeeper Coach.”
