Played three years for the Rebels Women’s Basketball team. 3x @mcacathletics Champion⠀

Working: Currently working at Home Run Sports | Kahunaverse Sports as a graphic designer⠀

Megan had this to say, “The opportunity to go through college as a student-athlete was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. From 6am practices to championship celebrations and everything in between, the memories will last a lifetime. The program promoted teamwork, dedication and hard work, values that I’ve carried with me on and off the court. I would recommend in a heartbeat!”⠀

Nike Basketball Camps at Red River College

Rebels Basketball is pleased to be hosting the Nike Basketball Camp at Red River College July 2 to 6. Provides attendees with valuable information and on-court demonstrations focused on techniques, drills, and philosophies that can be applied to your practices and games.

This Nike Basketball day camp is for boys and girls ages 10-18 who love basketball and want to get better.

Rebels Weekend Wrap: Feb 16-17

All Rebels teams were in action this weekend, with the basketball teams in playoffs, volleyball teams finishing their regular season and futsal teams with a pair of road games in Brandon.

Both basketball teams fell short at the NIAC playoff championships in Fort Totten, North Dakota, with men’s team falling in the quarterfinals and the women’s team coming up short in the semi’s. To read more, visit here and here.

The Rebels volleyball teams ended their regular seasons on a high note by both sweeping the ACC Cougars at home Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The women Rebels didn’t lose a set, winning 3-0 (25-19,25-17,25-23) and 3-0 (25-19,25-13,25-22). The team finished 2nd place in the MCAC with a 11-5 record. The men’s team won both their matches against the Cougars 3-1 (25-19,25-20,24-26,25-21) and 3-0 (25-14,25-20,25-20) clinching 4th place and the final playoff spot.

volleyball championships will be hosted by RRC, in the North Gym, Saturday February 24th and Sunday February 25th. Rebels men’s team will face the PUC Pilots at 12pm on Saturday in their semi final while the Rebels women’s team will face the CMU Blazers at 4pm in their semi. The men’s final will take place at 1pm on Sunday, followed by the women’s at 3pm.

Finally, the Rebels futsal teams achieved mixed results in Brandon on Saturday. The men’s team defeated the ACC Cougars 12-4, but then fell to the BU Bobcats 6-4. The Rebels women’s team defeated the Cougars as well by the score of 8-1, then followed up with a 2-2 tie against the Bobcats. The men’s team currently sits in 4th place with a 4-0-4 record while the women’s team is in 5th place with a 2-2-4 record. Both teams next face the USB Rouges  at USB on Friday March 2nd.

The Red River College Rebels are the 2018 Men’s Basketball Champions

The Rebels men’s basketball team is back on top after defeating the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 88-75 in the 2018 MCAC Men’s Basketball Championship on Saturday.They were led by conference scoring leader, Chris Demauleon-Bartolay, who had a game-high 23 points including five triples and a couple momentum shifting hustle plays on defence.

Rebels Weekend Wrap

The Rebels men’s basketball team punched their ticket to the MCAC Championship final with a pair of victories over the PUC Pilots this past weekend.

Coming into the weekend, the Rebels needed to win both games and have a better points for/against ratio than the Pilots, so the pressure was on the team to preform. The Rebels, started strong, winning 88-71 Friday night in Providence then followed up with a terrific defensive effort on Saturday, beating the Pilots at home 72-60. The high scoring Pilots came into the weekend with a league high 88 points per game avg, only to be held to 65.5ppg on the weekend by the Rebels. Forwards Mark Ridd and Jasdeep Khangura were excellent in the paint, defending the basket and rebounding the ball. Guard Chris Demauleon-Bartolay lead the offense on Saturday scoring 22 and clinched the MCAC regular season with 18.9 ppg.

With the two wins, the Rebels clinched a spot in the MCAC final against the CMU Blazers, The women’s Rebels team will also be playing in the MCAC final against the Blazers, after winning both of their weekend games against the Pilots, 60-43 on Friday and 60-55 on Saturday. The lady Rebels finished the MCAC in 2nd place with a 5-3 record. Both MCAC finals will be held Saturday, February 10th at PUC, with the men’s game at 2pm and the women’s game at 4pm.

The RRC women’s and men’s volleyball teams hosted the CMU Blazers Friday night, losing both games, women 3-1 (25-18, 15-25, 25-18, 25-23) and men 3-0 (25-17,25-18,25-15). Both teams next host the PUC Pilots on Thursday February 8th, with the men’s game starting at 6pm.
