Rebels Weekend Wrap Nov 1st&2nd

Volleyball teams opened their season on the road vs USB on Saturday the 2nd of November. Men’s at 6 and Women’s at 7:30. Rebels Basketball opened their season hosting AFLBS Conquerors, Women’s at 6 and Men’s at 8 pm.
Men’s Volleyball lost 3 sets to 0 vs USB, all the sets were nail bitters. 1st Year head coach Chris Voth is excited about the road ahead. 1st year Outside Brady De Dominicis from Linden Christian Highschool was sensational the whole game with a solid kill % of 52.94. 1st year Libero Cyril Hernandez from Kelvin Highschool had stepped up his passing and had some amazing digs through out the game.
Women’s Volleyball lost 3 sets to 0 vs USB, the sets were pretty close. 2nd Year Darby Coughlin from St. Mary’s Academy had 8 digs through out the game. 3rd Year Outside Sara Meisner from Ashern Central School had 6 kills. 4th Year Setter Chole Orteza had 4 aces. 9th Year head coach Dan McGregor is really excited about the group of people he has this year.
Men’s Basketball went 2-0 this weekend, Won the first game by 20 points with the final score of 81-61 and the second game by 10 points with the final score of 72-62. On Friday night 1st year Forward Francesco Tocci from Maples Highschool was unguardable the whole game finishing with 22 points, 17 rebounds, 4 blocks and 5 monster dunks just in 34:45 minutes of action. 1st year Forward Trezon Morcilla from Garden City poured in 18 points of his own. On Saturday afternoon the Rebels started out the game slow and trailed most of the game. 1st Year Guard JC Aaron from Garden City stepped up big time to help Rebels secure the win vs the Conquerors, finishing with 17 points and 6 assists. 1st Year Guard Justine De Leon from Technical Vocational Highschool was amazing the whole game, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds just in 24 minutes of action.
Women’s Basketball went 2-0 this past weekend vs the Conquerors, winning the first game by 45 points with the final score of 72-27 and the second game by 22 points with the final score of 70-48. on Friday night 4th Year Guard Jodene Kowalchuk from Selkirk MB was dominant on both sides of the floor finishing with 16 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals in 30 minutes of action. 1st Year Guard Kyla Clarke from St. John’s Highschool had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals of her own. On Saturday afternoon the Rebels picked up from where they left off on Friday night and never looked back. Kyla Clarke finished with 26 points on 9/15 shooting from the field and 3/3 from the 3 point line.
