This past weekend marked the final time in the 2018/19 season where all 6 Rebels court sport teams competed at once, with the basketball teams at NIAC championships, futsal and volleyball at home in the North Gym in MCAC play.

The Rebels volleyball teams split their final MCAC regular season games of the year against the PUC Pilots, with the women winning W 3-1 (25-17.20-25,25-21,25-21) and the men losing L 2-1 (25-21,14-25,24-26,25-19,11-15). The men’s team finished out of the playoffs with a 2-14 rccord, while the women’s team finished in 3rd place with a 7-9 record and qualified for the playoffs. The Rebels wvb will face USB Rouges in a MCAC semi-final Saturday Feb.23rd at 11am at Providence University College. If they win, the final will be held at PUC, Sunday Feb.24th 1:00pm.
Rebels futsal teams also had mixed results splitting their home games against the ACC Cougars and BU Bobcats in the North Gym on Saturday. The women Rebels first defeated ACC 7-1, led by a Julia Friesen hat trick, but the fell to BU 3-1, with Friesen being the long goal scorer. The men’s futsal team defeated ACC 6-0, with Eduardo Bardella and Minh Tran each scoring 2 goals, followed by being shut out by BU 5-0.
The women’s futsal team currently sits in 3rd place with a 5-1-3 record and
forward Logan Bresciani is in 3rd place for goals with 16. The men’s team is in 5th place with a 2-0-7 record and forward Minh Tran sits in 6th place for scoring with 10 goals. Both teams finish their MCAC regular season at home against the CMU Blazers on Friday March 1st with the women’s game starting at 6:15pm.
