Another busy weekend for RRC varsity sports, highlighted by the MCAC Basketball championships hosted at Canadian Mennonite University.
The Rebels men’s basketball team retained their MCAC title with a 76-68 victory over the PUC Pilots Saturday afternoon. To read more about the big win, Click Here. The women’s team fell short in their MCAC quest, losing to PUC 61-53. Both teams finish their seasons with NIAC championships in Sisseton, South Dakota this weekend. Both teams face the PUC Pilots Friday February 15th in their respective quarterfinals.
Rebels futsal split their away games against PUC on Saturday with women winning 8-2 and the men falling 6-3. The futsal teams next host the ACC Cougars and the BU Bobcats for home games in the North gym Saturday February 16th.
The Rebels volleyball teams had a successful weekend in Brandon, winning 3 out of 4 games against the ACC Cougars. Then men’s team won both games 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-16) and (25-22, 28-26, 26-24) while the women’s team split their games, winning Friday night 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-14) and losing 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-12) Saturday afternoon. Both vball teams wrap up the regular season at home against the PUC Pilots, Friday Feb 15th with the women’s game starting at 6:00pm.
