RRC Women’s Basketball fall in Semi-Final at NIAC Championships

The RRC Rebels women’s basketball team season came to a close on Friday, after a 74-55 loss to the Sisseton Wahpeton College Mustangs (South Dakota).

The Rebels trailed the number one seed Mustangs the entire game, unable to cut the lead to less than 9. The Mustangs 3 point shooting and full court press proved to be too much for the Rebels.

NIAC all-conference forward Lacey Finbogason lead the Rebels with 15 points while honorable mention Robelie Aaron chipped in with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Along with Finbogason, guard Zera Lynn Panesa was also named all-conference for the 2017-18 season.

The Mustangs, completed their perfect NIAC season, defeating the CMU Blazers 88-86 in OT while the Leech Lake Lakers (Minnesota) defeated the PUC Pilots in the men’s final 95-81.
