The Rebels women’s futsal team had a strong weekend earning a win and tie against two MCAC Westman teams at home on Saturday. They first hosted the BU Bobcats, earning a 2-2 tie, Madison Katz and Megan Castro the goal scorers. They then followed up with a 9-0 victory over the ACC Cougars. Emma MacLennan lead the way with a hat trick, while Emily Carniege chipped in with 2 goals of her own and GK Kendra Moen earned the shut out.
The men’s team earned a split on the weekend, defeating the Cougars 5-2, while falling to the Bobcats 7-4. Chris Yu-Long Deng lead the Rebels with 4 goals over the weekend.
The Rebels Futsal teams next two games are both on the road, Friday Jan 26th against the PUC Pilots and Saturday Jan 27th against the CMU Blazers.
The Rebels women’s volleyball teams currently sit in 2nd place in the MCAC with a 7-4 record after defeating the USB Les Rouge Friday night at home 3-1 (25-16, 25-15, 23-25 27-25). Anika Gray lead the offense with 9 kills while middle Ashley Goodwin anchored the defense with 4 blocks. The Rebels men’s team is still searching for their first MCAC win of the year, losing to Les Rouge 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19). Both teams hit the road this weekend, with games on Friday at USB.
