The Rebels men’s basketball team finished their first half of the season strong with a pair of NIAC league victories on the weekend. The Rebels defeated the Trinity Bible College Lions (Ellendale ND) on Saturday 95-89.
Chris Demauleon-Bartolay led the team with 23 points while forward Aaron Backe added 13 points and 9 rebounds. On Sunday, the Rebels won again 75-56, this time with Arsalan Zaheer scoring 24 points on 8 three pointers. The men’s team currently sit in 4th place with a 2-2 record. Unfortunately the Rebels women’s team lost both of their games to the TBC Lions, losing 81-70 on Saturday and 70-52 on Sunday. They also sit in 4th place at 2-2 in NIAC league play.
The Rebels volleyball teams also had their last games of the Fall term, hosting the PUC Pilots on Saturday. Unfortunately both teams fell short, with the women losing 3-2 (26-24,20-25,25-19,19-25,15-7) and the men falling 3-0 (25-14,25-22,25-17). The women’s team currently sit in MCAC 2nd place with a 5-3 record while the men’s team are in fifth place.
