All four Rebels basketball and volleyball teams competed this past weekend with Women’s Rebels team earning a pair of exhibition victories in Bottineau, North Dakota.
The Rebels women’s basketball team first defeated Stone Child College (Box Elder, MT) 86-71. Tiara Cruz led the way with 23 points and 8 rebounds while forward Lacey Finnbogason added 17 points and 12 boards. The Rebels followed up on Saturday with a 80-72 Overtime win over Dakota College (Bottineau, ND). Finnbogason led with 17 points with Cruz adding 15 points of her own.
The men’s basketball team split their two games, first defeating Stone Child on Friday 97-90, with Christopher Demauleon-Bartolay having a monster 34 point game. The Rebels then fell to Dakota on Saturday 112-69. Both teams host the CMU Blazers on Friday Nov.24th, then head on the road to play the PUC Pilots Saturday, Nov.25th in Otterbourne.
The Rebels women’s volleyball team split their pair of games agianst the ACC Cougars this weekend in Brandon, losing 3-2 (25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 15-9) on Friday but then winning 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-18) on Saturday. Chloe Orteza led the Rebels over the weekend with 18 kills while middle Ashley Goodwin chipped in with 7 solo blocks over the two games.
The men’s team are still searching for their first MCAC regular season win, losing 3-2 (12-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 16-14) and 3-1 (25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19). Both teams face St.Boniface on the road on the 24th then host CMU on the 25th.
