Coach Doug Lawrie on his two all-stars. ” Brittany is the team’s MVP this year.  In nine games played she posted 5 shutouts and a stingy 6 goals against.  She was a team leader on and off the field, and always had a great attitude that helped set a very positive team chemistry.  When it comes to skill and technique Brittany is the top goalkeeper in the league.”

Lawrie followed up with his thoughts on Da Silva “I’m very pleased that Alyshia was recognized by the MCAC with an All-Conference selection for her stellar play at Centre-back this year.  Overall, the team recorded 6 shutouts and only 6 goals against in 10 games played.  Alyshia was a major contributor to this stellar defensive record.  She is a very mobile defender who covered a lot of ground, and arrived at the ball determined to stop any attacking play.  After winning balls she either distributed it brilliantly, or progressed the ball with her own confident and skillful dribbling.  Alyshia has been a joy to coach and watch play this year.”

Centre defender Alex Castro was the lone Rebel named All-Conference. Coach Chuck Mrena on his outstanding player, “Alex Castro is the type of person that clearly shows that you can be a quiet, yet influential leader; that you can be skilled, yet modest; and that you can be passionate about a game while still being respectful of your team mates and coaches, the officials and the opponents.  He is the perfect example of what it means to be an All Conference Award Winner.  Absolutely deserved… one of the most outstanding people I have coached and know.  Congratulations Alex!”
