Red River College Women’s Soccer announces the commitment of Laura Halipchuk for the 2017 MCAC season. Laura played youth soccer with the Stonewall Youth Soccer Association. She attended Gimli H.S. where she was a multi-sport athlete. Laura was the soccer MVP all four years in high school and won the Athlete of the Year award twice. Laura was also a competitive figure skater throughout her youth, and won the Provincial Championship three times in the Individual event.
Laura comes to the team highly recommended by current team captain Paige Procter (Stonewall CI), who described Laura as the “hardest working player on the Gimli team”.
Laura graduated high school in 2013. She was an Honour Roll student and received the Crystal Kohler scholarship. She proceeded to the University of Manitoba where she completed her Nursing pre-requisite courses. While at the UofM Laura competed with the Bisons Synchronized Skating club. Laura transferred to RRC in 2016 upon gaining entrance into the RRC Bachelor of Nursing program. Laura will be entering her second year in the Nursing program.
