WINNIPEG, MB — As one of the leading teams in the Manitoba College Athletics Conference (MCAC), Red River College (RRC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Yiannis Tsalatsidis, as their new Head Coach for the Rebels Men’s Soccer/Futsal team.
“Yiannis is student of the game whose passion and knowledge will be a great addition to the coaching staff here at Red River College,” said Shane Ray, manager of athletics and recreation services, Red River College. “His experience and knowledge will help elevate the skills of our athletes in the program and help us continue our tradition of being a dominant force in the MCAC.”
Tsalatsidis holds a National B coaching licence from the Canada Soccer Association. He is the Academy Director and Assistant Technical Director of St. Charles Soccer Association. He works with the Province of Manitoba’s Elite REX and Vancouver pre-prospects high performance players. He’s competed and coached in the Manitoba Major Soccer League (MMSL), Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), the Premier Development League (PDL), and at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) level.
Joining Tsalatsidis will be Greg Walker and Nick Lisanti as assistant coaches.
Walker currently holds a Provincial B and C license and is the youth foundations coach at St. Charles Soccer where he works with the top young talent in the district.
Lisanti holds a Provincial B license and is one of the lead coaches in the St. Charles Academy where he also coaches their U14B Premier Team. He has experience playing at youth club nationals and in the MMSL Premier Division.
The Red River Rebels are the varsity sport teams of Red River College and compete in the Manitoba College Athletic Conference. The College fields men and women’s teams in basketball, futsal, soccer and volleyball.
