The Red River College Rebels Futsal teams completed their respective MCAC regular seasons this week at home with a pair of games against the CMU Blazers and USB Rouges.
The women Rebels split their games, first defeating USB 3-2. The Rebels used balanced scoring for the win, with Kelsie Paul, Stephanie Morris, and Lianne Fillion all chipping in. However, when the Rebels hosted CMU two nights later, the scoring all came from one player, Kelsie Paul who netted a hat trick in a losing effort, 4-3 to the Blazers. The Rebels finish the regular season with a 4-1-3 record, good for 2nd place.
The Rebels men’s concluded their regular season with a pair of victories, 1-0 over USB and 5-2 against CMU. TJ Schultz was the lone goal scorer against the previously unbeaten Les Rouges. Schultz scored again against the Blazers along with Goal Keeper Danilo Nascimeno, Cesar Carvalho and a pair from Anderson Pereira. The Rebels end the season at 6-2 but will not know their final ranking until the MCAC regular season concludes this weekend.
Both teams will compete in the MCAC Futsal Championships Saturday March 5th at CMU.
