Red River College Women’s Soccer is pleased to announce the commitment of Andrea Doerksen for the 2015 MCAC season.
Andrea played youth soccer in WYSA with Oakbank CC where she was captain of her community club team for three years. While playing youth she helped her teams win three WYSA City Championships, and her team competed in several high calibre tournaments in Saskatchewan and the US. After youth Andrea continued to play both senior women’s soccer and co-ed. Andrea plays Wing. “Andrea comes to us with a strong endorsement from her youth coach,” says Head Coach Doug Lawrie, “she is a skilled player and was a key leader on her team. She is very enthusiastic about taking on a new challenge in soccer by playing at the college level.”
Andrea graduated from Springfield Collegiate Institute in 2012 where she was an honour roll student in Grade 12. Following HS Andrea received an entry scholarship at the University of Winnipeg and a total of $10K in bursaries and scholarships towards her first year of university. At the UofW Andrea completed her pre-requisite courses for the Medical Radiologic Technology program she will take at RRC.
