Susanna Namgung Shines in Rebels Win

First year guard Susanna Namgung shone bright Friday night at Red River College leading the Rebels women’s basketball team to a 70-44 win past the Providence University College Pilots. Namgung scored a game high 27 points in 33 minutes of action to lead the Rebels, while senior forward Sela Andu chipped in with 9 points and 2 assists. The win improves the Rebels record to 7-1 and first place in MCAC league play.

The Rebels men’s basketball team continued their undefeated season defeating the PUC Pilots 69-64. Guard Kevin Quirante led all scorers with 25 points, along with Lloyd Hildebrand adding 10 points and 6 rebounds in the winning effort. The Rebels remain in first place in the MCAC with a 8-0 record.

Both teams head down Route 90 to face their Winnipeg rivals, CMU Blazers tomorrow night with the women’s tip at 6:00pm.
