Providence University College and Red River College played a double, double header today competing in both men’s and women’s volleyball and basketball.
The women’s volleyball team kicked it off at noon with the always strong PUC Pilots hammering the women Rebels 3-0 (25-10,25-12,25-18). The Rebels men’s team was able to gain revenge, defeating the Pilots in a five set thriller 3-2 (25-15,15-25,25-19,19-25,17-15). The women’s Rebels fall to 1-2 in MCAC league play while the men’s team sits in first place with a 3-0 record.
The women’s basketball team suffered their first loss of the season, 62-58 to the Pilots. Cassy Ordonez led the Rebels with 15 points while Susanna Namgung scored 12 in a losing effort. The Rebels men’s team remains undefeated, rolling to a 103-76 victory over PUC. Five players scored in double figures, with Taylor Brown leading the way with 21 points. Jonathan Wilner added 20 points, while Vince Munoz had a strong game with 19 points and 3 assists.
Next action for the basketball teams is Friday November 7th at CMU, and the volleyball teams next host ACC on Saturday the 8th.
