The Red River Rebels women’s basketball team remains undefeated in MCAC league play after defeating the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 75-47 at Red River College, on the Notre Dame Campus.
The Rebels benefitted from balanced scoring, with five player reaching double digits. Selamawit Andu led the way with 18 points and five rebounds. Brittany Adrian score 15 points with 11 boards, while Cassandra Oronez chipped with 12 points. Darcie Donald was the high scorer for CMU with 13 points.
Coach Jae Pangilinan on the victory. “We are really happy with tonight’s game, I thought the girls played tough.” He also added “Brittany Adrian had a great game, she was really strong on defense, and was always working hard.”
The Rebels go into the Christmas break in first place with a 4-0 record, while CMU slides to 2-2 on the season.
The Rebels men’s team completed the Red River swept over CMU with a 60-50 win. Cory Neufeld and Taylor Brown led the way with 17 points apiece while Evan Walker chipped in with 10. The Rebels imporved their MCAC record to a sparking 5-0 and first place in the confernce.
