The Red River College Rebels improved to 2-0 on the season with a thrilling 69-66 win over the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. The Rebels led the game from start to finish, and at one point led by has many as 14 points in the third quarter. However, the Wesmen were able to claw back into the game with some timely three-point shooting, only to come up short, with the Rebels Lloyd Hildebrand making a key block with only seconds remaining to seal the victory.
Hildebrand had a terrific night with 12 points, 7 rebounds and the one key block shot. Rodel Aaron led the Rebels in scoring with 13 points, while Corey Neufeld chipped in with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Given Issac from U of WInnipeg led all scorers with 17 points while teamate Stephen Ralko scored nine points and 11 rebounds.
The Rebels next two games are against Oak Hills Nov.22 and Nov.23.
