The Red River College Women’s Rebels earned their second league win of the year, with a 61-52 victory over the Providence University College Pilots, boosting their record to 2-0. The Rebels trailed going into the fourth quarter 37-35, but exploded in the fourth with 26 points and were able to put away the Pilots with a suffocating full court press. Brittany Adrian led the team in scoring with 14 points and 8 points, Celecia Luckwell (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Megan Neufeld (11 points and 10 rebounds) both secured double doubles in the win. PUC’s Isabella Selk was the high-scorer with 18 points.
In the men’s game, the Rebels ran away from PUC, finishing with a dominating 84-67 performance. Cory Neufeld led the way with 23, followed by Rodel Aaron with 19 and Llyod Hilderbrand with 12. Red River is 1-0 on the season. Ryan Perpall was the high scorer for PUC with 15 points.
