Red River College Polytechnic’s micro-credential courses allow you to quickly gain the specific skills sought by employers and earn a micro-credential.

These micro-credential courses were part of a training initiative by Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2) and the Government of Canada to provide workers with new skills needed to support a clean economy.

Introduction to Electric Vehicle Technology

Prepares technicians for safely working on, diagnosing and maintaining both hybrid and electric vehicles.

Electric Vehicle Communication and Computer Systems

RRC Polytech MotiveLab research facility project

Prepares technicians with an advanced skill level diagnosing vehicle networking and computer systems related to hybrid and electric vehicles.

Note: This course is designed to complement the prerequisite Introduction to Electric Vehicle Technology micro-credential course.

Building Envelope Science: Principles and Practice

Teaches building envelope, its components and the building science concepts that determine how a building interacts with its environment and surroundings.

Building Envelope Science: Design and Application

Builders

Learn about energy efficiency at the beginning of construction planning, ensuring that structures are constructed with sustainability in mind, reducing the amount of retrofitting that buildings will need as they age.

Diesel Exhaust Emission Reduction Systems

Teaches students the latest technologies employed in light- and heavy-duty emission reduction systems and is imperative for the diagnosis and repair of after-treatment systems and reducing harmful exhaust emissions.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles

Students receive in-depth training in hydrogen fuel cell systems are provided the knowledge needed to ensure safe practices with the push to reduce emissions in transportation to zero.

Fundamentals of Hydrogen Production

Fundamentals of Hydrogen Production micro-credential course gives students introductory training in hydrogen production providing the knowledge needed to ensure safe operations with this emerging fuel source.

Social Innovation

Engagement and Relationship-Building with Indigenous Communities

Focuses on relationship-building and engagement with Indigenous communities to work towards reconciliation.

Indigenous and Canadian Government Relationships

Indigenous, industry and community leaders

Provides knowledge of the relevant laws, principles, policies and obligations to work towards reconciliation, with a focus on Section 35 of the Constitution Act and the Duty to Consult.

The Consultation Process

Indigenous ceremony

Teaches the stages of the consultation framework including initial assessments, financial documents and communication with Indigenous communities, provincial governments and proponents.

Employee Registration

Organizations can request to register groups of employees in one or more fully funded quick train micro-credential courses.
