Developed in partnership with Manitoba Environmental Industries Association (MEIA), Efficiency Manitoba and RRC Polytech Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre, this six-month micro-credential program prepares you to become a registered Energy Advisor (EA) and is the only training of its kind provided by a Canadian post-secondary institution.
With the Government of Canada’s Greener Homes Initiative providing free EnerGuide energy audits for 1 million homes in Canada, registered EAs are needed. This initiative, combined with a shortage of EAs across Canada, provides the opportunity for immediate employment in an in-demand and rewarding field.
The specialized skills training provided by RRC Polytech’s in-house subject matter experts and dynamic applied research facilities provide the knowledge required to pass the NRCan examination and earn your certification.
The following textbook is required for the program:
In Manitoba, the average wage for NRCan-registered Energy Advisors is between $18 – $55 per hour (source: Job Bank). Experienced NRCan-registered Energy Advisors often operate as sub-contractors using a fee for service model.
