After School Leaders – Arts Entrepreneurs
Are you a creative looking to take your work to the next level? Are you thinking about gaining skills to make you more employable? Join Red River College’s Arts Entrepreneurship online program!
This program will focus on the tools needed for getting clients, getting hired or getting accepted to the school of your choice. Each student will receive guidance from an industry professional in their desired field. The program will be delivered using Microsoft Teams in full group, small group and individual sessions.
Winnipeg-based creative and RRC alumnus Shae Tuomi will work with you to get your work out there and noticed and be better positioned for exciting side gig opportunities.
Online classes begin Oct. 28 and run until Dec. 18, 2020.
Classes generally run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with some time on Mondays and Fridays.
Topics and Deliverables
You will learn how be a freelance (gig economy) worker, covering topics such as:
- Content development and improvement through industry professional mentoring
- Portfolio development
- Freelance / small business management
- Communicating for business
- Social media marketing and networking
By the end of this program, you will have:
- A portfolio
- A personal brand
- Professional social media
- A website
All creative media are welcome, including:
- Illustration (traditional and digital)
- 3D modeling / sculpting
- Animation (2D and 3D)
- Graphic design
- UI /UX design
- Creative writing
- Crafting (sewing, knitting, pottery, etc.)
