Notre Dame Campus Community Forum Report
The Indigenous Student Support & Community Relations department held a Community Forum in May of 2008 at Red River College Polytechnic’s Notre Dame Campus to identify strategies that will enhance the role of RRC Polytech in supporting Indigenous people and their future post-secondary successes.
The forum brought together 200 representatives from the community including educators, counselors, service providers, government employees and RRC Polytech staff and students to provide their input and feedback through group discussions and forum style reporting. The event also included presentations, a student panel and First Nation, Metis and Inuit entertainment.
Knowledge Metrics Consulting was hired to record and compile the results generated by its respective participants and is now available for public viewing.
This report will be used as a tool to help guide the School of Indigenous Education and Red River College Polytechnic as it strives to become the post-secondary institution of choice for Indigenous student across Manitoba.

Portage la Prairie Community Forum Report
RRC’s Indigenous Student Support & Community Relations department held a Community Forum in 2008 at Red River College Polytechnic’s Notre Dame Campus to identify strategies that would enhance the role of RRC Polytech in supporting Indigenous people and their future post-secondary successes. One of the first key strategies identified by participants was to host similar forums in rural communities.
On May 31st, 2012, RRC Polytech’s Indigenous Student Support & Community Relations held a rural Community Forum hosted by Red River College Polytechnic’s Portage La Prairie Campus. The forum brought together 30 representatives from the Indigenous Community, government, local agencies, students and the College. The purpose of the forum was to further identify strategies to improve the role of the college in supporting Indigenous people as they strive to achieve their post-secondary educational goals.
