You have a passion for design and digital marketing and a solid portfolio to back up your work. After honing your skills in an agency setting for the past 5+ years, you’re ready to use that hands-on experience to take your career to the next level. You believe that effective creative needs to be based on insights, not design trends, and that ego is a four-letter word. Your collaborative work ethic, problem-solving skills and ability to translate a brief into killer concepts would make any team drool. Must love brand definition, identity development, concept creation and long walks on the beach.
We’re a 26-person marketing agency that takes a strategic, digitally driven approach to produce work for our clients. We use research and analytics to inform our decisions, build strategies and positioning tied to clear goals and objectives and create breakthrough work as a result.
As part of our team, you’ll work closely with a seasoned group of creatives, developers, strategists, and marketers to help companies define their competitive advantage, strengthen audience relationships and create effective and engaging solutions for some of Manitoba’s leading marketers.
To apply, please send your resume and a portfolio with at least three real-life work samples to firstname.lastname@example.org – subject line “Design at Metric”.

All 13 students in the Graphic Design Advanced program flew to Toronto to attend the Design Thinkers Conference November 3 & 4. The students put togerther a video explaining why they wanted to come and won one of four $500 scholarships to put towards their cost.
DesignThinkers delves into industry trends with visionaries from a range of communications-related disciplines including design, user experience, advertising, branding, consumer engagement, film, social media and entrepreneurship. Sessions teach delegates how to create effective communications by exploring cutting-edge innovation, the latest technology, demographic and ethnographic trends, strategic management techniques, cognitive theory and much more.
Graphic Design Advanced student Hely Schumann is this year’s Gillespie Award winner. Listen to Hely talk about her experience in our program in our new video.
Bruce Gillespie was an instructor at Red River College from 1989 until illness in 2007 left
him unable to continue teaching. Bruce left this mortal world in the spring of 2008 at the age of 57.
Over the course of his two decades at RRC, he crossed paths with hundreds of aspiring graphic designers, as a teacher, mentor, big brother and friend. In addition to teaching, Bruce is best remembered by most people for his encyclopedic knowledge of music, for his incredible album collection, and his own musical ability.
Application for the award is in the form of a poster that reflects on the marriage of music and art; collecting, giving, sharing, remembering and passion.
