Post has been updated – 09/16/2021
As a reminder, next week to attend campus, you must have your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by September 20th, and your second by October 17th. For those seeking an exemption, please ensure you submit your request as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone for your continued support as we work together to keep our learning and working spaces safe.
The following update outlines our approach to verifying immunization status, vaccine exemptions, upcoming vaccine clinics, and on-campus asymptomatic testing for those with an approved exemption.
RRC Mobile Safety App: Verifying Vaccination Status
The RRC Mobile Safety App will be live today, Friday, September 3rd at noon. Students, employees, and those living in residence are encouraged to begin uploading their vaccine information for Safety Health Services to verify vaccination status. RRC’s Mobile Safety App is free to download on your smartphone or mobile device, and we encourage all staff and students to download the app as soon as possible.
September 7th Soft Launch
Starting September 7th, we will begin with a soft launch of the RRC Mobile Safety App to test out our entry and validation processes on-campus. As of Tuesday, entry to any of our campuses will only be allowed through the designated entrances.
We encourage the College community to begin using the app for access during the soft launch to help staff work through the verification and entry process. This will help us refine our processes to allow easy access for everyone attending the College. This is also an opportunity to become familiar with the designated entrances on-campus as well.
During the soft launch period from Sept 7 – 19 entry will still be permitted without the RRC Mobile Safety App. Verification will be required on Sept 10th.
Details on how to upload your proof of vaccination to the RRC Mobile Safety App are available here.
COVID-19 vaccine on-campus clinics this fall
Red River College continues to support students and staff to access COVID-19 vaccines. Upcoming clinics are scheduled at our Notre Dame Campus, on September 7th and October 13th, and at the Exchange District Campus, September 9th and October 15th. Click here for locations, times and details.
Asymptomatic Testing & Vaccine Exemptions
Asymptomatic COVID-19 testing will be required for individuals attending campus who have received an approved exemption (medical, creed/religious, other). Exemptions are only available for those who cannot be reasonably accommodated through remote work or online learning as a result of the essential on-campus delivery of their program.
Self-administered rapid testing for individuals with an approved exemption will begin on Monday, September 20th. Read more about asymptomatic testing requirements and training.
Testing is only for asymptomatic members of our community who have an approved exemption.
