The Province of Manitoba reminds everyone that it has extended the public health orders it issued on March 30 to April 28, 2020.
Discussions with the Province of Manitoba
Dr. Christine Watson, Interim President & CEO of Red River College, sent an email message to all staff yesterday about discussions between the College’s senior leadership team and government officials about the Province of Manitoba’s efforts to reduce spending for public sector entities, including post-secondary institutions. One of the options under consideration is a reduced work week.
RRC Announces First Mínwastánikéwin Truth and Reconciliation Award Recipient
Red River College’s School of Indigenous Education, in partnership with the Campus Store, is honoured to present the first Mínwastánikéwin Truth and Reconciliation Award to Child and Youth Care student Morgan Barbanchon. The word Mínwastánikéwin is Cree and means ‘to set it right.’
“College has changed my life quite a bit. I have learned so much about myself. I’m a completely different person before coming into this program and going to Red River. I just found the beauty in Indigenous culture that I was searching for my whole life. I never knew how beautiful our culture was and it made me more proud to be who I am.”
Behind the Scenes at RRC

Creative Connections
PR students in RRC’s Creative Communications program have teamed up with Ace Burpee to create and share fun and simple tools people can use to spread fill time, show gratitude, connect, and lower anxiety.
Innovation Centre-featured artist releases free Anishinabee colouring sheets
Winnipeg artist Jackie Traverse and her publisher Fernwood Publishing have released six free printable colouring sheets from her colouring books Sacred Feminine and IKWE for a relaxing stay-at-home activity for kids and adults.
The Anishinabee artist’s work was recently unveiled as one of the main design features of the College’s new 100,000 square-foot Innovation Centre, currently under construction in the Exchange District.
