A message from Dr. Christine Watson, Interim President and CEO
In this unprecedented time, Red River College is working to keep its students, faculty and staff safe, and help limit the spread of COVID-19 while continuing to support students in their studies.
As a result, we have made the difficult decision to postpone spring convocation ceremonies that were planned for June 1 and 2, 2020.
We know convocation is an important milestone for our students – it is for us too, a unique moment where we all come together in a College-wide celebration. It is one of my favourite events of the year and I appreciate how very important it is to our students. Please be assured we will have an opportunity to celebrate at convocation later in the year when it is safe to do so.
I also want to emphasize that while convocation ceremonies are postponed, students will still graduate when they have completed their programs and receive the parchments (degree, diploma, certificate) that they earned. This means eligible students still need to apply to graduate by the last day of the term in which they are graduating and can learn how to do so at rrc.ca/academics/convocation.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this challenging time. Together, we will find our way through this and celebrate when the time is right.
Take care and stay safe,
Dr. Christine Watson
Interim President and CEO
