This course from April 17 to April 20 will teach advanced theory and applications of infrared thermography in the preventive maintenance, quality assurance, condition monitoring and non-destructive testing of materials, with an emphasis on building envelope components such as wall assemblies and roofs.
SPACE IS LIMITED! The training will consist of classroom lectures, group discussions, demonstrations and fieldwork for a group of up to 12 people.
Hands-on activities are emphasized so that participants use the equipment during a large portion of the training. Comprehensive training manuals, for use during and after the course, are included for each participant.
This Level II course extends the knowledge gained in Level I on infrared theory and heat transfer concepts. Students will leave aware of the full operational capabilities of their radiometric thermal imaging equipment and are challenged with daily hands on demonstrations, experiments and inspection situations similar to those experienced in the field.
Dates: April 17 – 20, 2018
Times: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Red River College
Cost: $2,254.35 incl. PST/GST
Course Code: CIVL-9010
Course cost includes: Parking, lunch and morning coffee.

Level II focuses on radiometric temperature measurement and how taking accurate temperatures improves the diagnosis and interpretation of thermal situations.
The course delves deeply into the concepts of emissivity, reflected temperature compensation, as well as spatial and measurement resolution.
Other topics include: inspecting through transmissive films and windows and the use and limitations of IR mirrors.
Included in this is post-course support for participants.
