Congratulations on making the decision to join the Red River College Community and the Animal Health Technology program!

You will be taking an assessment that will help your program advisors prepare you for the Animal Health Technology (AHT) program. This assessment is mandatory, however the results will not affect your entrance into the AHT program.

On your assigned assessment day you will write:

1. A math assessment.

This test includes foundational skills needed for the Animal Health Technology program. The results of this test will help your program advise you on the best stage for you to enter your first term math course.

The test includes skills such as:

  • addition and subtraction
  • multiplication and division
  • decimals
  • exponents
  • conversions within the metric system and between the metric system and the imperial system. (Formulas will be given.)
  • ratio and proportion
  • basic word problems.

2. A basic reading and charting task.

This task will assess your ability to read a short text related to AHT and chart information appropriately and accurately.

3. An assessment of your learning and study skills.
