Welding

Weld a strong bond between talent and professional expertise to prepare for a rewarding career.

Develop the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively perform welding processes across various industries.

Through the Welding program, you’ll learn to safely perform oxyacetylene, arc, tungsten inert gas (TIG) and metal inert gas (MIG) welding processes and related operations. You’ll also develop a working knowledge of welding components and government and industry standards.

As part of your RRC Polytech education, you’ll build the versatile communication, collaboration and learning skills you need to adapt to new technology, continue growing your expertise and take on new career opportunities.

Students will be tested for Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification in SMAW and GMAW for an additional fee, and on passing will receive a transferable ticket(s) from the Canadian Welding Bureau.

Upon graduation, you’ll receive a certificate from RRC Polytech. This is a not an apprenticeship program but may provide credit transfer opportunities towards apprenticeship.

In this program, you’ll focus on building practical shop experience and technical expertise. You’ll enhance this experiential learning with classroom lectures on topics such as welding, mathematics, science, industrial communications and blueprint reading.
