Students must enter this program with a trade credential associated with a Manitoba Education Technical-Vocational curriculum area.
The Technical Vocational Teacher Education program develops the practical planning, communication and technical skills required to teach designated and non-designated trades in high schools across Manitoba.
In this program, you will learn to plan, deliver and assess courses using Manitoba’s technical-vocational education curriculum and safely organize and manage lab/shop settings. You’ll also complete a student teaching practicum to help build practical skills and prepare for a successful career as a teacher.
Diploma: Graduates of the program will earn a diploma in Technical Vocational Teacher Education.
Degree: Graduates can continue their training through a joint program with a partner university to earn a Bachelor of Education degree.

Explore fundamental education methodology and instructional methods while completing your first teaching practicum.
TERM 2
Develop advanced teaching methodology, explore classroom management and learn to manage a vocational facility while completing your second teaching practicum.
TERM 3
Focus on advanced concepts, course planning, assessment and educational technology and expand your practical experience with a third teaching practicum.
TERM 4
Test your knowledge and take on the full responsibilities of a vocational teacher as part of your final student teaching practicum.
