Combine your practical problem-solving skills with in-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, construction and technology to help plan, support and supervise building projects.

Architectural/Engineering Technology is a specialization program. Students interested in this program must apply to and complete the first common year of the Civil Engineering Technology program.

Architectural engineering technologists are a vital part of the construction process, providing technical support and services to engineers, architects and other professionals.

Through the Architectural/Engineering Technology program, you will explore engineering and architectural construction systems and build the technical and problem-solving skills needed to work as an architectural engineering technologist. You will develop your knowledge of engineering principles and construction practices to pursue careers in building system construction and design, computer-aided design and drafting, site inspection and supervision, construction project and administration management, technical sales and support, building sciences and environmental systems.

After completing Civil Engineering Technology’s first year (Terms 1 to 3), you can choose to specialize in Architectural/Engineering Technology. Through this program, you will develop the versatile technical and professional skills needed for a successful career in architectural engineering technology.

TERM 4

Develop specialized architectural engineering technology knowledge, such as structural design, building science, computer-aided drafting and project management.

TERM 5

Complete a paid co-op placement focused on Architectural/Engineering Technology to further develop your work experience, meet potential employers and expand your network.

TERM 6

Deepen your knowledge by studying advanced concepts, such as materials testing, management and engineering economics. Explore applied research opportunities.
